Terms of Service
Effective March 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Scorecard ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including visitors and registered users.
2. Description of Service
Scorecard is a card game scorekeeping application that allows users to track matches, record statistics, and connect with friends. The Service is available on web, iOS, and Android platforms. We offer both a free tier and a paid subscription ("Full Deck") with additional features.
3. Accounts
To use most features of the Service, you must sign in using a supported third-party authentication provider (Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Yahoo). You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and must not share access with others.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
- Free tier: Includes up to 5 matches per month, up to 10 friends, and 90 days of match history.
- Full Deck subscription: $1.99/month or $12.99/year, providing unlimited matches, unlimited friends, full match history, custom rulesets, and advanced statistics. New users receive a 90-day free trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
- Billing is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play depending on your platform.
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' advance notice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or any other user's account
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest data from the Service
- Transmit any content that is harmful, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
6. User Content
You retain ownership of the data you create within the Service (match scores, rulesets, etc.). By using the Service, you grant Scorecard a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store and display your content for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not sell your personal data to third parties.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party authentication providers (Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Yahoo) and may use other third-party infrastructure. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Scorecard is not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service — including its design, functionality, and content (excluding user content) — belong to Scorecard. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our express written permission.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Scorecard does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scorecard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the account settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a new effective date or through an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of North Carolina.
